Beyond the amazing wine and delicious hors d’oeuvres, I gained a boost of motivation that I had been seeking. There’s an indescribable feeling when you meet other people (especially when they're Gators, its a plus!) that have a similar passion as you. Tonight, I was able to share my experience with other students who are striving to become well-rounded multimedia journalists and expanded my circle of friends in the industry. More importantly, I gained mentors who have been successful in their careers because of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

The words that stuck with me tonight were, “No one can give you your voice.”

You already have your voice; that is the gift you have been given and no one can take that away from you. It is up to you how you use it with the skills you develop throughout your career. It's a never ending journey where every day you are given the opportunity to get better.
